Jean Marie Rowe
Hey there! My name is Jean-Marie Rowe, but you can call me Jean. I’m a Cecil County, MD native and a graduate of Towson University, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resource Management. Growing up, I always knew I wanted to work in the mental health field—a calling rooted in my own lived experiences with mental health from an early age. When it came time to shape my future, I chose Human Resources over psychology or social work because I was drawn to helping people feel seen, valued, and supported in the workplace. While I could have pursued a similar impact in a clinical setting, the idea of reaching and being a bridge for those who may not have an interest in or access to clinical resources resonated with me more. Remarkably, that mindset – combined with my passion for mental health – brought me right into my role as Peer Support Manager at Sean’s House. In this role, I get to channel my lived experience into meaningful action – supporting our Peer24 Specialists and Peer24 Leads both personally and professionally as they grow as young adults, take big steps in their college or career journeys, and navigate their own mental health. I also train new cohorts of Peer24 Specialists and guide our Peer24 Leads, ensuring they feel equipped, supported, and empowered to make an impact. Outside of the House, you’ll usually find me lost in a good book, hiking to soak up a scenic view, or wandering through the aisles of an arts and crafts store convincing myself that this project will actually get finished.
