Chandler Morrell
Hello! My name is Chandler Morrell and I am a Peer Lead at Sean’s House. I am currently a student at the University of Delaware, studying psychology and neuroscience with minors in both disability studies and biochemistry. After school, I plan to enroll in a graduate program and eventually become a child psychologist. My mental health journey has led me to many dark places but many great places as well, including my time at Sean’s House. As a child, I was the son of a father in and out of the prison system, which had an immense impact on my mental health. I have always struggled with anxiety and depression, but through recovery I have become a stronger, more resilient person. I have learned many lessons, including to be more patient with myself and how to love and take care of myself.
I wish to continue learning and building on myself throughout my Sean’s House career and the rest of my life. I plan to use my lived experience and lessons that I have learned in order to help others along with their journeys. If I can leave Sean’s House saying one thing, it will be that I helped our guests to be kinder to both themselves and others. Outside of Sean’s House and school, I have a lot of hobbies including fishing, kayaking, biking, going to the beach, listening to music, hanging with friends, and watching sports (I am a huge Philadelphia fan!). One fun fact about me is that I have never left the East Coast, let alone the United States. I hope to change that very soon! If you ever run into me at Sean’s House, feel free to say hi and come chat with me! I hope to see you there!
