Annie Heischober
Hi! I am Annie, and I am from Long Island, NY. I am a senior Psychology major with minors in Human Development/Family Sciences and Medical Social Services at the University of Delaware. After I graduate I plan to pursue a PsyD in clinical psychology. I am currently a Peer Lead at Sean’s House and have been a peer support specialist since my freshman year.
In addition to being involved with Sean’s House, I am a member of the University of Delaware Symphony Orchestra playing violin! I am also in a sorority and love to read, write, or draw in my free time! Some of my favorite things are going on drives to watch sunsets, and country music (Kelsea Ballerini, of course)!
Through navigating my mental health and recovery journey, I have learned that each day may look different, but it is super important to live in the moment, and feel the feels, whatever they may be. As a child, I dealt with the impact of my parents relationship and divorce leading to chronic stress, disordered eating, and other mental health challenges which resulted in diagnosis of autoimmune disorders. With my amazing team and support system, I have been able to achieve my fullest potential and continue sharing my light with others.
Mental health matters, your story matters, and you matter. Don’t ever forget that, and if you start to, someone at Sean’s house will always remind you! Thanks for being here!
