Kaitlin Davis
Hi! My name is Kait Davis, I’m a Junior here at the University of Delaware. I am majoring in Psychology with minors in Human Development & Family Science as well as Fashion Culture & History. I am originally from West Chester, Pennsylvania but now live in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. I’m looking to pursue a career in holistic based therapy/counseling specializing in adolescents and young adults.
The first time I stopped into Sean’s House I was a guest; struggling with the adjustments to new college life. From my first visit I knew I wanted to become a peer. Throughout middle, high school and currently I’ve struggled with anxiety, depression and intrusive thoughts related to OCD. After meeting with counselors and even a therapist that helped me immensely throughout my teen years, I realized that there are aspects of modern life as a teen/young adult that most adults cannot fully grasp due to the generational gap. I wished I could lean on someone closer to my age so they could understand the issues I was referencing, and I offered to be this support for fellow students in my high school. I didn’t realize it at the time when I was informing my high school’s staff of this, but I was offering to become a peer support before I knew what it was. Fast forward to Fall 2023; and I was accepted into the Peer24 training program at Sean’s House. I started volunteering as a peer and then working as a Peer Lead in Spring 2025. From starting as a guest, to peer, to peer lead, it has helped me empathize with not only our guests but my fellow peer supports as well.
Outside of Sean’s House I love spending time with loved ones, being by the water, listening to music, playing guitar and participating in UD’s concert choir, running and going to the gym, expressing myself through fashion and making jewelry for my small business.
Recovery to me means knowing that the definition of recovery can change throughout different seasons of life; most of the time it’s just about getting through the day without letting intrusive thoughts become reality.
