Peer24 Lead

Hi!! I’m Jordan (she/her) and I’m from Bear, Delaware! I’m currently a Junior at UD studying Psychology, with a minor in Human Development and Family Sciences! After graduation I plan on continuing my education and pursuing a Master’s in Social Work and eventually work towards becoming a Psychologist or go into school counseling. I started volunteering at Sean’s House during the Winter of 24’ and am so excited and honored to take the next step and become even more involved with this amazing organization as a Peer Lead!

My mental health journey began in middle school when depression became a vital role of my everyday life. My perfectionism for myself became more and more significant and eventually led to disordered eating and anxiety as well. During high school I hit a low point and struggled to voice my need for support. Luckily, I was able to receive both the love and support I needed to pick myself up and get to the point where I am today. While I would never wish my experiences on anyone, I’m so glad I found Sean’s House, as it’s an opportunity to use my experiences for good and help others know they are never alone and are always loved and supported.

Sean’s House is like a second home for me on campus, especially considering I commute to school. I love spending my free time there in between classes since it’s such a warm, inviting place for everyone who walks through those doors. By continuing to surround myself with amazing individuals who share the same ideals and are advocates for mental health, I’m able to continue my mental health journey in ways I never thought was possible.
In addition to working at Sean’s House I also love to read, take my dog on long walks at Glasgow Park, and dance! I’m currently in UD’s yoga club and love to grab a sweet treat afterwards.

Although recovery is never linear, it’s always worth it. There isn’t a day that goes by where you are not loved and appreciated, and if you ever begin to doubt that, please come in so we can remind you how amazing and wonderful you truly are! I truly hope to see you around and if you ever see me, please don’t hesitate to say hi!
