Hi! I’m Lily (she/her), and I’m from Hockessin, DE. I’m a senior at the University of Delaware majoring in Psychology and minoring in Women & Gender Studies and Human Development & Family Services. After I graduate I plan to go to graduate school to get my MSW where I plan to get involved in court advocacy and eventually become a LCSW.

Working at Sean’s House has been an incredibly healing and meaningful experience for me. I struggled with anxiety, depression, and PTSD since a young age, and being in a space where mental health is openly talked about, and deeply understood is incredibly empowering. Sean’s House creates a community where people feel less alone in what they’re going through, and I love being able to contribute to that environment and contribute to the organization’s growth and culture.

Outside of Sean’s House, I’m a Volunteer Crisis Counselor for a text line, and I’m launching a new club this spring called Mindful Miles, where UD students can meet, practice mindfulness, build community, and explore local hiking spots together. In my free time, I love drinking tea, sketching, and painting whenever I get the chance.

Recovery to me is trusting your own feelings and experiences, while still holding space for the feelings and realities of others. It is learning to honor your intuition without minimizing yourself, and to practice empathy without self-abandonment or shame. Finding the balance between self-protection and openness, accountability and compassion—so that your voice matters just as much as anyone else’s.
