Alexa Albert

Peer24 Lead

Hello! I’m Alexa, and I am from Bucks County, PA. I am a junior Psychology and Criminal Justice major at the University of Delaware. I started volunteering at Sean’s House as a Peer Support Specialist in the winter of 2025, and I am so excited to now be a Peer Lead!

Outside of Sean’s House I intern at the Office of Defense Services, in Wilmington, where I’ll observe court proceedings, assist with legal research and case work, and learn how public defenders support people who cannot afford an attorney. I am also in a sorority, and choreograph dance for an organization of the IFC! I spend a lot of time with my friends, and enjoy doing arts and crafts when I get the  chance!

Sean’s House immediately stood out to me as a warm and supportive space with a real sense of community, which drew me to its mission after I attended a Gather & Grow dinner. Seeing people close to me struggle with mental health—and facing my own challenges—has shown me how important compassion and connection are during difficult moments. I’m deeply motivated to support others and offer care that can make a meaningful difference in their lives.

Recovery, to me, means having the space and support to heal at your own pace without fear of judgment. It looks like learning healthy ways to cope, rebuilding confidence, and realizing you are not defined by your hardest moments. Most importantly, recovery is about connection and knowing you are not alone and that there are people and resources ready to help you as you grow stronger.

Come visit and say hi, we have super cute dogs! Thank you for being here!
