Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Peer24 is an 8 week program that consists of about 60 hours of learning activities

This program is available for anyone with lived experience who wants to support youth through similar life challenges

An individual with lived experience is someone who identifies as having personally worked to overcome, or has received services for mental health or substance use challenges

Peer Specialists are expected to be comfortable using their lived experiences to support their peers and serve as a role model by treating others with kindness, listening non-judgmentally, providing guidance, and respecting the privacy of those they are supporting.

Thoughts from our Peer Support Specialists

It has been a joy and an honor being able to work there and to be a listening ear for those that need it. I have met so many wonderful people who have the same goals about bringing awareness to mental health that I do. I am constantly looking forward to the future of Sean’s House and all the amazing things that we will do!

Being a mental health advocate is part of who I am. It is important to me because mental health is an integral part of my overall health and I think the more you know about mental health the better off you will be. I want to use my knowledge about mental health to empower others on their mental health journey.
