Julia Peña
Hey! My name is Julia Peña, and I’m from Long Island, NY. I’m a Senior Psychology and Music double major with a minor in Neuroscience. I plan to get my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with a focus on cognitive neuroscience after I graduate from UD.
Working at Sean’s House has been incredibly uplifting and rewarding. While I spend a lot of time studying psychology in a lab, the House has shown me that recovery can start with just one conversation. Since I started as a volunteer in Spring 2024, I’ve felt nothing but love and support from the community at 136. Whether we’re joking around in the dining room or hosting a dinner, I know I will always find a friend in the House.
Outside of Sean’s House, I’m heavily involved in UD’s School of Music! I’m currently the Principal Double Bassist of the UD Symphony Orchestra and President of Sigma Alpha Iota Women’s Music Fraternity. I spend a lot of time curating playlists and collecting records, too! If you see me around the House, feel free to give me some song recommendations.
Recovery, as I’ve learned, isn’t linear! In my own experience, asking for help can be the hardest step. I’m proud to work in a space that empowers people to make that change for themselves!
