Adriana Jones

Peer 24 Leader

Hi! My name is Adriana, and I am a senior Psychology major at UD. After I’m finished with my schooling, I’m hoping to attend a graduate program and become a licensed therapist. This job has made me realize how much I like connecting with people, and I feel like becoming a therapist lines up with what I enjoy most. My mental health journey has not been an easy one, but I have learned so much about getting in touch with myself and doing what’s best for me. Struggling with depression, anxiety, and eating disorders has taught me a lot about myself; I now know my limits, likes, and dislikes. I am forever proud of myself for choosing to start my recovery journey, and it has given me a new outlook on life. I am so lucky to belong to an organization where so many others are experiencing similar feelings and situations.

My role at Sean’s House is a Peer Lead, which has been my favorite job that I’ve ever had. I am able to connect with new and familiar faces within the organization, and give guidance to both guests and volunteers when needed. I try my best to shine my light by starting each shift and greeting everyone at the house. It lets them know that I’m happy to see them and that I am here for them if needed! When I’m not at Sean’s House, I am a HUGE Peloton girl. I love doing spin classes, and I try my best to keep up with them while I’m at school. I also love to read – my favorite book is “Little Fires Everywhere” by Celeste Ng.
