Missy Marrazzo

Peer 24 Leader

Hi everyone! My name is Missy and I am a senior communications major at UD! While I am not exactly sure what I want to do when I graduate, I know I want to do something in the digital communication and visual arts field. Throughout my mental health journey, creating art through different types of media has been something that got me through the toughest times. It has been a consistent way for me to show others how I see the world. For as long as I can remember, I have struggled with my mental health. I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety when I was 16, and ADHD when I was 20. My recovery journey has been one full of ups and downs, but this journey and my choice to choose life has kept me going through even the toughest of times, and I am so grateful to be where I am today. I would have never gotten through the really tough times if it weren’t for my amazing family and friends that make up the incredible support system I am lucky enough to have.

I started volunteering at Sean’s House as peer support in the summer of 2022, when I transferred to UD, because this resource and community of people is something I wish I had when I started my recovery journey. It is a community I am so proud to be a part of to help others in their journey. I just recently became a Peer Lead and I am so excited to continue to shine my light on this community in a new role. Aside from my time at the house, I spend lots of time taking photos, reading, going for walks, and going to concerts (if I know one song by an artist, I’m going to their concert). One of my other huge interests Is traveling. In the past year I spent time in Costa Rica, Spain, France, England, and Ireland! One accomplishment I am most proud of/a random fact about me is I have won 4 Taco Bell scholarships in the past 5 years.
